The Story of the Wise Owl
There was an old owl that lived in an oak tree near a village and this owl would sit in the tree and just observe the life around him.
One day he heard a story of this boy who caught the biggest fish ever caught, and the next day, he heard a story of a girl who is arguing with her mother. The next day, a woman spoke about an elephant that jumped over a fence, and a man was very proud of an accomplishment. And he learned to be a little bit more quiet, and to listen a bit more. More and more. Over time the owl became more and more wise from all the stories he was hearing. It demonstrates the power of listening.
I have noticed over the years, that communication is not a given. Just because we have the ability to communicate, does not mean that people do. We require a license to drive, why not a license to communicate?! It is far more complex.
